Al Zoebi shoots up

The 32 storey Al Zoebi Towers in Al Khobar is now the tallest building in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province. Saudi Readymix recently concluded the concrete pouring phase for the top floor of the development which now stands at 136 metres. The tower is expected to be completed in Q1 2008. More »


Barwa launches tender

Barwa Al Khor has launched the tendering process covering the initial installation work for its $6.9bn Al Khor project. The tender will include fencing the 15 kilometre site and the building of an on-site office for the project, measuring approximately 25,000 sqft. The initial installation is due to be completed in five months and phase one of the mixed use project should be ready in Q1 2011. More »


Burj Dubai now world's tallest

Emaar Properties' Burj Dubai has now officially been labelled as the tallest building in the world. The tower, which currently measures 512.1 metres, or 1,680 feet, has now overtaken the Taipei 101 in Taiwan, which has held the title since it opened in 2004. High Rise makes appointments

Dubai's High Rise Properties has appointed Samer Shakra as its Regional Sales and Marketing Manager, replacing Joachim Zoellner who has left the firm. Shakra will work to develop new markets and establish new channels in areas such as Asia and the Mena region. High Rise has also named Lida Mallah as its Iran - Department Sales Manager. More »


VCBank, UIB launch Sakani

Bahrain's Venture Capital Bank and United International Bank have launched a shariah compliant real estate development company, Sakani, which will focus on residential housing projects aimed at low and middle income groups in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. A private offering to investors in the GCC is expected to raise $100m for the new firm, while the VCBank and the UIB will commit $10m each as their stake. More »
